Parent calls Hogg Therapy to answer the initial intake questions about their child's needs

Doctor sends the referral and our office calls the family to answer the intake questions (Requested if not already received)

Doctor referral is requested if not already received

Initial paperwork is emailed to the caregiver. The paperwork must be filled out before we can schedule your appointment. This is to ensure that all the necessary information is received in order to complete and bill the evaluation.

Once the initial paperwork is sent back to HTP, our intake coordinator will call the caregiver to get the child scheduled.

A reminder text will be sent the day before the evaluation appointment to confirm the appointment.

This past week, staff member Nicole delivered hundreds of personalized cards to the UK DanceBlue Hematology/Oncology Clinic for pediatric cancer patients. The coloring cards were designed and donated by HTP to Baker Intermediate School for their first ever DanceBlue Mini Marathon in February, part of a year-long fundraising effort organized by the University of Kentucky for childhood cancer. The fundraising culminated in a 24 hour dance marathon at Rupp arena on April 18-19th, where nearly 1,000 college students pushed their bodies and minds to their limits in solidarity to support kentucky’s smallest heroes. Nicole, along with Baker Principal, Josh Mounts, and Baker Intermediate School’s own student-run Morale Committee of 5th and 6th graders, officially presented their fundraising check during the marathon at Rupp, where many of the clinic patients who received the special cards were also in attendance. There’s something extra special about kids encouraging kids! Take a look at some of the sweet messages the students wrote for the clinic children. Our therapists use sensory bins daily — and they are easy to put together at home, too! 🏡 You probably already have everything you need in your pantry, but if you want to make a sensory bin with a seasonal twist, a quick visit to your local dollar store will give you tons of inspiration! For babies and toddlers (0–5 years), try filling a shallow bin with: • Dry rice, oats, pasta, or shredded paper • Measuring cups or spoons • Small bowls or scoops • (For older toddlers) pom-poms, small plastic toys, or large, safe objects to find and sort Sensory bins support fine motor skills, early math concepts (scooping, pouring, measuring), language development, and independent play—all while keeping little hands busy 👏 (Just keep an eye on things so that nothing gets swallowed! 👀) Pro tip: Lay down a sheet or shower curtain underneath for easy cleanup! #hoggtherapypediatrics #sensorybin
