We want to celebrate some big milestones that two of our OTs shared recently! Mrs. Jordyn’s friend (first photo) met TWO short term goals for her sensory processing aversions! 🙌 She was able to jump on the trampoline with no signs of distress and she was able to tolerate swinging with no signs of distress either! ✨These are huge accomplishments for her, because she used to be extremely sensitive to any vestibular input — now, she tolerated TWO! This past week, staff member Nicole delivered hundreds of personalized cards to the UK DanceBlue Hematology/Oncology Clinic for pediatric cancer patients. The coloring cards were designed and donated by HTP to Baker Intermediate School for their first ever DanceBlue Mini Marathon in February, part of a year-long fundraising effort organized by the University of Kentucky for childhood cancer. The fundraising culminated in a 24 hour dance marathon at Rupp arena on April 18-19th, where nearly 1,000 college students pushed their bodies and minds to their limits in solidarity to support kentucky’s smallest heroes.
